About the X-QPack
The X-QPack is designed to be relatively small and portable. It's
available in five different colors - see the whole line-up here.
Size is minimized by restricting the motherboard to a micro-ATX form factor or smaller.
Portability is enhanced by the use of lightweight aluminum and by the inclusion of a retractable
carrying handle on the front. For visual appeal, the case includes three windows; one in each
side and one on top. When operating, the included 120mm fan and the 420 watt power supply are both
lit by blue LED’s and are clearly visible through the windows. The front panel features I/O ports
for USB2.0, firewire, speakers, mic, and an LCD display. The LCD provides a readout of the temperatures
sensed by two thermistors which are also included.
Who is This Case For?
The X-QPack’s visual elements and design extras, like the front panel handle, seem to be aimed squarely
at gamers - and I think gamers are exactly the people most likely to buy this case. That being said, I
think this case would fit well in most casual settings, from the family room to the computer room. It’s probably
not the ideal choice for a fleet of new office PC’s, however.
The Price
The X-QPack is available online for around 90 U.S. Dollars. This price includes the 420 watt power supply,
120mm case fan, and the front panel temperature display. This seems to be on the upper end of Aspire’s price
range but fairly middle of the road among other case brands with similar feature sets.
