Introduction
"Cases have come a long way since the days
of the plain beige box." You’ll read a line like that in many of the
current case reviews on the net. It’s completely true, of course;
windows, colored lighting, front panel temperature displays – these features
are common place in modern case designs. The problem for me is
that I’ve always been kind of partial to the “plain beige box”. Why I
volunteered to review a case that has all of the above, and then some, I
don’t know, but, without giving too much away, after working with the
Aspire X-QPack case on and off for the last week or so, I’m glad I
did.
Aspire Corp. has been
in the case and peripherals business since March of 1999. Over the last
few years they’ve made a concerted effort to attract a wider audience to
their cases, specifically gamers, by moving beyond traditional designs and
adding not only cosmetic enhancements but technical improvements as well.
Will the X-QPack series of cases convert more gamers over to the Aspire
brand? Today we’ll take a closer look at one of these cases and find out
what it has to offer –
judging by this guy’s expression, we’re in for a hell of a ride.
