hello. i am new here but i was wondering. in a couple of days i am getting 2*512 OCZ 3700EB - is this good memory in your opinions? and what bandwidths do you think it will achieve?

Not anymore. Considering that I'm using 333fsb procs with 400fsb RAM that cannot be forced to run at 400fsb I think this is pretty good.

How do you get unbuffered? Mine will no doubt not be as impressive as most.

I have a RAM timing question:

my settings on a p4c800e deluxe are 250 5:4 2-3-3-5-4

Is it better to have timings match up? Should it be 2-3-3-8-4 or 2-3-3-8-8?

That's two separate questions...

Personal Experience

I bought a PC with a single factory-fitted 256MB DIMM.

I installed a matched pair of PC3200/DDR400 DIMMs - in the correct sockets - and measured the following memory performance improvement:

Pentium 4, 3.2GHz
Single DIMM 2947 MBytes / sec
Dual DIMMs 4664 MBytes / sec
( SiSoft SANDRA benchmark )

The Intel and Kingston documents suggest that this results in a 10-25% improvement in overall system performance.

does anyone have the best (oc) timings for my (OCZ Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel 4 GB : 2 x 2 GB Memory - DIMM 240-pin - 1066 MHz ( PC2-8500 )?
I have not oced them in so long I forgot or lost the timings I used before.
