The FX-55 was not available 6 months ago when I bought the P4EE. As you can see from my listing, I run a mixture of AMD and Intel CPUs. Each has their strengths and their weaknesses. Intel is a little faster on multimedia; AMD is a little faster on games. I am getting ready to purchase another FX-55 (another late Chrismas PresentOriginally Posted by Android Vageta

I do run a lot of games but I also do quite a bit of CAD and photo work. At the time, the P4EE was a good balance for both gaming and for graphics work.Originally Posted by Snafu

- thought as much. Now if you're off loading maybe I'll still be using an 875 board and could take the EE off your hands

My current rig is really quite average (for this board)
XP3000+ Barton -Was a very nice boost over a 2200+
MSI KT3 Ultra 2 mobo -Has lasted literally years with no problems
1GB generic ram -Just some junk (DDR333) ram that apparently manages to run at CL2.5
Gigabyte 9800Pro -Nice card, but very dated in modern games
WD 80GB (8MB)
WD 180GB (8MB)
My new rig will be the following (and I'm expecting to pay a lot of cash for it)
{subject to changes before purchase}
A64 3500+ -No need for FX55 because I'm getting a dual-core when released
Gigabyte SLi mobo -The one with 8 SATA ports!
2GB Corsair XMS3200C2 -2 sticks of 1GB ram - so I can upgrade to 4GB ram later
GeForce 6800Ultra -One to start with, then another later
4x73GB WD Raptors -Will be running in RAID 0+1 for around 144GB of useable space
2x320GB WD Drives -Two of these new drives in RAID1 so no need for any external backups
My rig is as follows:
Shuttle SN85G4V2 barebones
A64 3400+ 1MB
1GB Corsair PC3200LL Pro
Radeon 9800Pro 128MB
250GB WD SATA
Lite-On 411S
SoundBlaster Live Value - Yes, I do think it's better than oboard. It is the single piece of computer hardware I have owned the longest. I bought it over 5 years ago used from a friend for $15.
Logitech Z-560's
Philips 107E monitor, but will be replaced by a Samsung 710N as soon as I have the money to.
