X79 Build

after a year gone away from home on and off I am going to attemp a new build...First I have been cleaning the water loop and it needed it bad...
This build:
Intel I7 3930
Gskill
DDR3 PC 17000 16 Gigs
Koolance 370 CPU block
I have a amd 7970 ref card with no bells and whistles..Thought I would see how it was..I seem to end up back with Nvidia after 6 months..seems AMD comes out first then around May Nvidia...Maybe they do this on purpose. This will be a work in progress..I am in no hurry...

Im using the Asus X79 Pro MB..Notice the size of the CPU..it's like a mini pop tart.

Im using the same flow as John showed me, it has always worked well....This time just distilled water a drop of the dead water and that little piece of silver in the alphacool RES on the right...

I have run new lines and I'm getting the air out now....This will be a work in progress...more to come

This is an AMD ref sample..it didnt even come with a driver disc..Not that I ever use the disc but when I look on line it looks like the software suite doesnt come with the drivers..will see...I should be ready to load barring any problems tom....

Just warming it up...at 4.400 I did get my best Vantage score ever...not sure if its the 7970 or the 3930 chip...I really need a lesson on clocking this...it seems to just use the multi...there is a cpu strap you can raise from 100 to 125...150...etc...this is stock 100 x 44....

There are also issues with the x79 chipset as far as SSD's go..I will get into that later...

running at 4.600..It cant be just the AMD 7970 card..3D06 and Vantage have always crashed at the CPU portion of the test if running to fast...so far nothing rattles this cpu...

will try for 4.8 in a bit...as for now..4.6 runs smooth running 3DMark 06 and Vantage...

My first time running 3DMark 11.....it has several adjustments..I need to get to know it better....

I always start small and work my way up...I am a bit green with this 3930 CPU..usually you crash until you find the right voltage or hit the wall...so far I have never crashed and have not found the wall...

at 4.800 with 3DMark 06, Vantage, and Mark 11 there is no stopping this CPU...so far..
