What are some of those cool utilities you've run into, yes those small little unobtrusive gems, things that have become part of your personal arsenal? Thanks in advance to all that participate!!!

First ones that come to mind, I have to actually give props to Microsoft for.
One is a utility that I got from a co-worker, but I later found was distributed in one of the Resource kits. It is called "NetWatch". It is a simple small executable that shows an explorer like gui of all "shares" you have on your computer and who is accessing that right at that moment.
A second one that you can find free from Microsoft if you search is a command line utility (also from a resource kit I think) called SetX. Once installed it gives you ability (if admin) to set system level environment variables. It has become indispensible when creating batch files for simple software installs at work.
ShutGUI (from an NT Resource kit) is great...
PSList and PSKill (from Sysinternals) comes in handy alot for me
Cpu-Z (great for finding chipset info on other folks' PC that ask for help)
Outlook PST backup tool (saved my butt a few times), made by MS
AN8-SLI, Opty148 @ 260, HTT=1040, 4x256 OCZ@520mhz, Zalman Reserator, XT800GTO
Tired of wading through spam? Have hundreds of emails you have to sort thru hoping not to delete a 'REAL' one? Well, I sure had that problem till I tried POPFile. Now I can read the real emails in about 5 mins, instead taking 30+ minutes of wading thru 150 junk ones. Check it out if you haven't. BTW, I did mention it was FREE didn't I?

Another of my favorites for spam is Mail Washer Pro, although not free; it's one of the best I've had the pleasure to use:

For a solid WinXP Registry Cleaner - Tweaking Tool - Cleanup and Repair; I heartily recommend TuneUp Utilities
Ultraedit32 - The best windows text editor on the planet!
Another great tool is Showman...a great pie chart disk space analyzer. It will allow you to go down into subdirectories and see pie charts within each directory. It will show you disk slack as well. Been using it for years!!

Registry cleaners used to scare the %@#$! out of me...but not any more. I use this one a lot, on all my machines, friends, family, and when I tweak for hire: RegSupreme 1.2 by Macecraft Software. It cost $12.95US. There is a free 1 month trial demo too that you can download.

Dothalo.exe and HexEditor. Awesome programs to mod halo 2 offline. You can literally change the entire game, skins, wepons, make eveything go slow motion, etc. Pretty Sweet. You can mod halo 2 with out installing any hard ware, a soft mod.
I,ve been using Registry Mechanic for quite a while and presumed it was doing a good job, but after reading this thread I downloaded a trial version of TuneUp Utilities which found a lot more registry faults. So I got System Mechanic 6, and low & behold if it didn't find more faults. Made me wonder if I'd run these in reverse order if they would all still find faults.![]()
