    Default DC'ing game

Hey guys know I haven't been around much but playing WOW all the time. Have a 80 DK and Lock with the DK being my main as of last night he was the best geared on the server. I posted here due to a weird problem and that's wow dc'ing on me. My fiancee plays and never dc's me on the other hand has happened more and more often. The strange thing is it happens randomly can be while just sitting there. My vent on the other hand stays connected. I have a DFI blood Iron (Sry don't rem the cpu) and just upgraded from a Nvidia 7900 series card to an ATI 5770HD OC edition.

I am thinking one of two things the psu with unstable voltage. I have a 500w off the wall brand now with a Thermaltake 600W sitting in the box that I don't want to use unless that's the problem. Or maybe just need to adjust voltage to the southbridge.

Really clueless on this now. This weekend I installed an new HD with fresh installs along with the new VGA thinking since I had an old used one it was getting buggy. I am still getting the DC's now I have tried differant ports on the router side case open thinking it was heat related, and an after market cpu cooler.

    Helpppppppppppp

Last nights DC caused us to wipe on Proffeser Putricide 25 man which sucked. I DC'd going into phase 3 which is a dps burn and when I came back found myself dead. We wiped with 3% health left on him if I stayed up we may have gotten it.

Oh one more thing I just thought of. Before this weekend with the lower power VGA I would just pop off and og back to the loading screen like instantaniously. Now with a VGA that consumes more power when it dc's it freezes 5-10seconds before taking me to the sign on screen. So may have solved my problem gonna drop in the new psu tonight lol.

Seems you have it under control, the key was your GF was fine on the same connections so you knew it had to be the machine...I had that happening with a low voltage overclock, started off quite randomly over a number of hours and grew worst, adjusted the vcore up a tad and it stopped.

edit: Oops...mine were full on crashes though.

Well, if you re-installed the OS, and re-installed the game, then it has to be either the ati drivers, or a hardware problem (like the psu).

There are a lot of posts about people switching from nvidia to ati, and having crashes and stuff in games that worked fine before.
Most of the time, a Driver Cleaner cleanup will fix the problem though.

Sometimes when switching hardware, you need to set all oc's to stock, switch the hardware, install drivers, and oc all over again too.

    I have a question though:
What the heck does DC mean?
    DisConnect?

Yup on the dc. As for the drivers it happened with the Nvidia card also just slightly differant. Now it pauses and dc's before it would just dc. I am thinking it's because the new card draws more power.

Yeah well as I said the VGA is factory OC'd . I may play with it in the future but time is a bit difficult atm. PLaying wow with 20 80's there not much time when I am not scheduled to raid and would hate to blue screen mid raid.

Update: I installed the 600W psu last night. I then logged in and saw a bit of stuttering in game. I jumped to bios and bumped my NP and cpu voltage. Signed back in raided last night and NO DC's
