Any earlier & you would of only had the same few boards reviewed.
Hard to find reviews on the cheaper boards especially.
So if anyone has bought a Gigabyte EX58 UD3R, or a Foxconn Renaissance, tell us what you think of it.

So far so good. I went this board, core i7 920, Coolermaster V8, 6 GB Kingston 1333 DDR3, HD 4890.

Still trying to decipher the manual.

Ha! This forms a significant upgrade from a P4 Prescott - damned if I ain't thinking about putting it back together, it's winter here in Australia and it's COLD! - where the only way to "overclock" it was to increase the multiplier frequency.

Now I have a bazillion options and I'm "AAAARGGHH!!" when I look at the BIOS: NFI what to do first!

yes it is a Big Jump!

even us Maniacs had to relearn everything when the i7 came out

I liked that Prescott - I had it running @ 3.92 GHz on air....

It's get a bit warm inside so I'd simply take the side of the case off and direct a small electric desk fan in I miss it
