Well, yeah, sort of my point.....it never let's you in on what's going on.......

Isn't the definition of a prequel "takes place before"?

Yes, this movie takes place "before" he has all those gadgets at least I think that is the point.

Does kind of mess up the time line though if they say its 2006 in the movie, I mean at least other Prequel's give you evidence that things are earlier than the other parts.

    Loved Casino Royale.
Really enjoyed the "new" Bond. Took it for what it was, a fresh look at Her Majesty's finest. And being a huge fan of the franchise, left the theater anticipating 007's next adventure.

Or maybe the directing of the story, I'm not sure. The problem is that people who know about those events or the history of those countries will surely get into the movie.....I couldn't. I know nothing of those events or the history of those countries, and while I found the story tragic I just couldn't get into it. I found myself constantly thinking "why did they do that? or why didn't they do this?". I felt Spielberg was trying to show the world what happened and how tragic it was, yet he failed to direct the movie so that idiots like myself could understand it enough to really get into it. The only other way I can explain it is Schindler's List. That was another powerful, tragic story. But in this case, everyone knows the background of those events, and therefore it's much easier to really get into the story.....does that make sense?

Anyway, glad you enjoyed it....it was a brilliant film and I wanted to get into it but just couldn't...
I hear ya. I am almost embarrassed to say that it took me three times viewing it to completely understand the context of it (in a limited fashion anyway). I agree on the cinematography, etc. Awesome.

And as for Rome...the first season was much, much better than this one IMO.

Every once in a while a film comes along that shows us what life (or a part of life) would be like without some thing or some experience or some event. And even if the film has flaws, the message and/or story of the film is so powerful that you are forced to reevaluate your life (or part of it), or at least look at it in a different, more meaningful way.

Children of Men is such a film. Watch it.

How do you mean? It looks pretty cool.

    "Crank"
Interesting story line. Full of action and humour. Loved the interesting cinematography. Not for kids!

    "The Hills Have Eyes"
Another not for kids movie but a good scarey flick.

    "Hostel"
If you wanna watch something that can make you squirm in your seat this is it! Do you recall the scene in Reservoir Dogs (another good flick) with the cop tied to a chair. Well it is like that.

Started watching Troy (seen it on TV but now wanted to watch it without commercials ) and picked up Saw, Saw II, and Saw III.

Typical David versus Goliath type of story, to a point. Pretty cool slo-mo battle scenes, kind of resembled ballet though.

I loved 300, it made me want to come home and play titan quest after I finished watching it!

    I really enjoyed crank too.

And older (not in theaters now) movie that I highly recommend you go out and rent is "The Machinist" it's a great drama (I guess, kinda hard to classify)
