    Default Whatcha Watchin?

This is the visual version of the "Whatcha Jammin To?" thread.....

Watched V for Vendetta last night.....was expecting total rubbish and was pleasantly surprised. It was slow, and I have no idea if it did the graphic novel justice, but I thought it was a good film....mostly due to the outstanding dialogue. Acting was good as well......

The thing that really killed me about that movie is the the magnetic wave or whatever it was didnt hurt anything on the car but the solenoid Its not like they are any other electronics on a car that are more sensitive than a selonoid. ...(I would the the ecu would be hit harder )

I saw WOTW at the cinema, was almost typical Speilberg. The thing I didn't like really was it was short, and it lacked depth. I feel he could have done a lot more with the story.....

    Agree effects were amazing....

    Red face

I'm going to watch Terrorstorm from Alex Jones todays. Get it trought emule, 2CDs, acceptable quality and it looks like the crazy jewish guy god some points, as always does

Certainly it make me want kill politicians only more

Mikki - I liked the V or Venteda too. Ideas are most certainly buletproof and this movie got a point, when you look around a bit more...

    Wink

Heheh, I did not watch TV at all
But the Terrorstorm is a bit dense even to me - shocking at least - not for the faint of heart

And recently I watched The Battle of Algiers - http://imdb.com/title/tt0058946/
Pretty old, yet still very interesting and mainly banned in France - no wonder, they slaughtered about one milion of Algierians, so, they don't want to hear that

It is a 147th best movie for a reason

Folks, go watch THIS trailer...movie is out in March and I know I will be one of the first on the planet to see it.... Aside from being a huge Frank Miller fan, and an amatuer history buff, the movie looks AWESOME.....

I watched both rockstars. Interesting how a pair of Canucks won, eh?

Got Trailer Park Boys Fifth Season and Sopranos to watch (when there is some time) and a couple of movies (Saw series).

Speaking of recently watched films, we watched Mirrormask last night. It was billed as a modern Wizard of Oz and made by the same people that made Dark Crystal (Jim Henson's company). I picked it because the trailer I saw caught my eye, it looked beautiful. And it was....the cinematography was stunning, absolutely brilliant. The design and look of the film was gorgeous, a bit artsy-fartsy, but very nice. The story was good, a girl gets pulled to another world and embarks on an adventure to save a queen. The story has an underlying message, and the acting is good. At the end of the day, however, the film was just plain weird. I mean, producing a unique work is admirable, but the normal viewing audience can only take so much weirdness before it starts to take away from the elements that they do like. That was my case.....there were things like the cinematography that I thoroughly enjoyed, but the oddness of the film started taking away from it in the end, and I ended up patiently waiting for it to end.

Watched Final Fantasy VII last night. It's a bit hard to understand the story, and therefore I treated it as an eye candy film. It, like the first FF film, is completely computer generated...altho this one has a complete different style, and doesn't have quite the realistic feeling the first one had. But it is as beautiful a computer animated film as you will see. If you love computer animation and are into FF or the anime craze, you'll love this movie. I'd watch it again just for the eye candy alone......

I watched that a few weeks ago and loved it. The effects were great, and the story while a little odd was thoroughly enjoyable. I just watched "The City of Lost Children" tonight. It was pretty good. A French film, entirely subtitled. Also a bit weird. If you thought mirror mask was strange I don't recommend you watch this one though.

I too am looking forward to "300". I saw a trailer for it at the theater and it looks simply amazing. The spartans were fierce warriors to be sure!

I also saw "Children of Men" in the theater today as well. The story was good. I felt there was a lot of things they didn't tell you though, which kinda bothered me.

I unfortunately watched "Lady in the Water" recently as well. All I can say is don't bother.

Looking forward to Children of Men also....

Watched Serenity today with the family, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Sci-Fi action flick. Outstanding story with some nice twists, excellent acting and directing. Good to excellent cinematography. Effects were a bit low budget in places, but it doesn't take anything away from the film.
