A nice feature of the forum is Profile Pictures, which is built into the software. We haven't used it here mainly because the initial feedback was that no one would use it. I suppose that's because not many of us want to post photos of ourselves on the Net, which is understandable. In the depths of my mind, amid the cobwebs, I had the idea that maybe we could use it for photos of our rigs instead. Well, after talking over with myself, we agreed this was a good idea.
So, the Profile Pictures option is now enabled and ready for use. Here's the details:
What is It?
Why, is a picture of course. This photo hangs out in your profile for the world to see.
How Do I Use It?
Go to UserCP --> Edit Profile Picture, on the left menu. Then simply link to a photo on your webspace or upload it. I think the default size for display is 300px x 300px, 100k. Different user groups have different size limits.
What Can I Post?
We won't complain if you wish to post a photo of yourself, but the idea was for folks to post photos of their rigs or computer rooms. Your choice, we won't get too crazy on what people can/can't post.
Photos in bad taste are not allowed, period, and the Crew will have the last say on what is good/bad taste. This is a computing site, let's stay on topic. Should you abuse this feature, you may end up facing The Executioner. Second offenses will be thrown in the Dungeon with no warning.
