I have many LG drives, they have excellent disk/format compatibility. I have three that expired but my children abuse them with constant movie watching, disks have been "fingerprinted" if you know what I mean!![]()
Most of the DVD burners with lightscribe are rebadged Samsung drives. They all work very good.

Ok I have a really stupid question.
Is there a advantage to having DVD-RAM as opposed to not have it
EDIT: I got this one --> Samsung DVD Burner <--

A bit of an outdated thread so now, March 29, 2008 what is a good choice for a good dvd-rw drive that performs well for games etc?

you really cant go wrong with optical drives form liteon or LG . lightscribe is cool but the disk's are still abit pricey . no need to spend extra cash here as most 30-45 dollor drives perform quite nicely . some mobo's dont play nice with sata optical drives , so be sure to ask ol'norton about this since he has more hands on with the GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3R then i .

I've got a SATA LG GSA H62N, just because I've had many LG burners & never had any problems with them.
The SATA ones are no faster, but the cabling is neater & you can disable the onboard IDE controller.
I don't know the quality of Samsung pc products but this drive appeared to have everything i was looking for for under 30 bucks- will this work well with the p35 ds3r
