resolved - had to open ports 80 and 8080 for it to work from the 4th attempt, but it never had happened before![]()
hmm...you shouldn't have to open either of those two ports (80,8080) as those are for web server services and are INBOUND ports.
I have always used the console version or the service version of the client but it sounds like you are using the SysTray version maybe, under Windows? Again, trying looking on the wiki here:
http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Guide
or the forums here:
http://foldingforum.org/
you should not have to use proxy, unless of course you know you actually are using one.
i am using console client, and thanks for the links - i see there mahy problems like mine, over and over again, but as far as i can conclude that would be the problem on their side, not mine, but so long? and while i was writing this - yes, it seems the problem was theirs... cores successfully downlaoded, for the 2nd client too..![]()
They do have servers that get bogged down or locked up for some reason now and again, seems you were the lucky one and happen to hit just the right one
Glad your going![]()
seems so, and i wanted to report that client, has successfully uploaded the completed WU, and obtained a new WU; and the 2nd one is near the finish.
but what's with the 47point WUs.....haven't seen them previously (now both clienst do those P4609, core Amber)
UPDATE : okey - i read the project description, and yes they are 47p short term projects, peptide fragments, but one thing that differs from my situation is that in theory those WUs are sent only to those classic client users, that run with the -advmethod flags, i think i haven't set that one.![]()
Not really sure about the points stuff outside of the fact that the single client always had lower points then the SMP or GPU clients that I found.
I no longer control most of the folding machines I was using and as they get updated they are dropping off line (folding that is).
