    I just started folding 2 days ago and got 400 frame slowpokes on all three puters. My fastest box finished and I got like 71 points. Dunno exactly what the point total means, but it seems to be a pretty good output for one WU.

    Here is the project summery form the stanford site, it lists the amount of points for each protein currently being given out.

    http://folding.stanford.edu/psummary.html

    When you configured the client how did you answer the "Client Type (no-pref/fah/gah) [no-pref]?" question? It should be fah.

    Everything on that list is either 400 or 100 frames... The one I am folding now is 250 frames.

    Any clue why?

    :EDIT: Bah.. mine shows on the list as a 100 frame 18 point WU.. It shows on my screen as a 250 though.. weird.

    Also, Sodface pulled into the lead for the week. How long has it been since rotorhead didn't lead a week?

    Hey I answered FH in the preference on all of them except on my main rig I did it after I already started folding a work unit....

    So 4 going and all 4 are tinkers or stinkers I guess!!!

    I will have a 70.9 pt down later this evening with another 70.9 done around midnight....another 70.9 done tomorrow evening and one on my centrino would be for like monday evening and also 70.9....

    I guess I will low Wu's but high points...And that is wht ultimatley counts for out team, right???

    Hey could the issue be I use fah65.core on all of them??? It always initailizes in the log and said fah65.exe not found then downloads it....

    Is that the client??? Is there a different one I should use to insure gromacs???

    Bingo,

    That’s what I was missing, yes there are three different cores.

    fahcore_65.exe = Tinker
    fahcore_78.exe = Gromacs
    fahcore_ca.exe = Gromacs/?

    If you want to try and get the newer core, you will need to delete the work folder and the fahcore_65.exe file. You can shut down the client then delete those items then restart. If you have configured the client correctly and are using the command line switches, the client should get the new core file and the proper protein to go with it.

    Unfortunately this will kill the current work unit, so if it’s almost done, just let it finish. If you get another tinker after that just delete the above files and try again.

    I'm confused on how to get the new core, and where and how to use those command switches

    Nevermind...You were right...After I completed WU I erased the fah65 core and it downloaded the 78 core....

    I got a 500 frame unit as seen by the FH.exe but EMIII sees it has 100 frames...either way I am already half way done with it and will have another 32 points...

    NOw that is what Iam talking about 5 hours for 32 points not 30 hours for 70 or 18 hours for 30.....

    I am thinking of dumping the WU on the centrino since it is a tinker and will take 60 hours (393 atoms, 400frames) and get the 78 core as well....

    Updated the main post.

    Added in the stuff from the setup thread, and got the correct description for the switches.

    And a little visual enhancement.

    Duvie, good to see you got everything up and running. You should be crunching those work units at a faster rate now.
