BleedinEdge Forum Rules - General
There is no charge for joining this forum, but we do ask that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. If you agree to the terms, please check the 'I agree' checkbox and press the 'Register' button below.
This is a community of computing enthusiasts, overclockers, modders and tweakers, both experienced and inexperienced. We started this community and we take care of it. At the end of the day all any of us want is to overclock or mod everything we can get our hands on and then have a cool place where we can hang out and talk about it. We want you to be yourself as long as you can act with respect toward your fellow members and the BleedinEdge Crew. We don't expect you to leave your personality at the door, we just ask that you bring your manners in as well. Please think before you post and re-read what you type before you post it.
There is tremendous diversity in age, race, gender, language, location (worldwide) and more here and there will be a lot of varying opinions on different subjects. We're all human beings and we're all drawn to this site because of our passion for computers and the things we do with them. We will willingly listen to your suggestions and complaints, and try to incorporate your ideas into the site.
If you come across any violations to these guidelines or have any problems navigating the site, do not hesitate to let us know through the BleedinEdge Contact address, private messaging system or Report to Moderator links. We'll be happy to address your concerns. We encourage everyone to participate in and enjoy the Community while at the same time adhering to these Guidelines:
BleedinEdge Forum Rules - Guidelines
Please welcome newcomers to our growing community. Help new members learn how to find information and resources, and how to get involved in the Community. This courtesy will pay off in attracting members who may have knowledge to share, which will add to the quality of our Community. Remember that without new folks our Community won't grow!
Don't attack others. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated, this includes but is not limited to flaming or insults. Challenge the points of view and opinions of others, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully...without insult and personal attack. Members who subscribe to this sort of behavior will have a short stay on BleedinEdge.
Think before you post or speak: Do you really want to put your address or telephone number on a public discussion forum? We encourage you to keep personal information personal.
In the same vein, do not ask for personal information from others. Posts that request members to submit personal information to another party will be removed. Information that should be considered personal includes but is not limited to your home phone number, name, and age. If you must give this out for any reason, please do so privately.
There may be places where explicit, obscene or vulgar language, graphics or behavior is appropriate, however BleedinEdge is not one of them. Posts that contain explicit, obscene or vulgar language will be removed. If you cannot express your thoughts without using this kind of language then you may wish to purchase a dictionary and learn some new words. Similarly, posts that solicit or offer explicit or X-rated GIFs, JPEGs or similar content files will be deleted without notice! This is a computer forum, should you wish to view that sort of content then try a Google search. This also applies warez-related material, in all forms. No offensive usernames, signatures, titles or avatars are allowed. In all things, the BleedinEdge Staff will decide what is offensive or not and will make all final decisions on such matters.
BleedinEdge Forum Rules - Posting
Please don't post the same discussion more than once on a discussion forum or on many forums. There is a forum for every subject, pick one and post. Duplicate discussions are frustrating and counterproductive for other members, especially for those whose time and energy is limited. Duplicate discussions will be deleted.
No Advertising – Spam
Do not heedlessly place your advertisements through the Discussion Forums. This will be considered SPAM and could result in the loss of your membership. Spamming of any kind including pornograhic-related will be dealt with severely. BleedinEdge is totally against SPAM in all it's forms. Posting links to content on other sites such as threads in the News Forum or reviews on other review sites are not considered SPAM unless it is deemed to be an advertisement of a profitable nature.
No Abuse of PM
Private Messaging is provided to the members of BleedinEdge as a service intended to enhance the Community experience. The purpose of private messaging is to allow for discreet conversations to take place between members. Please don't abuse this privilege. Solicitation, spamming, or harassment of any kind is strictly forbidden. Any member receiving an inappropriate private message should forward that message to an Administrator or Moderator right away. Do not carry private discussions onto the public forums, and do not carry differences of opinions from private discussions to the forums or from one forum to another. Although private messages are normally only accessible by those who send and receive them, they are part of the database and as such, property of BleedinEdge. An Administrator, if so inclined, could locate the Private Messages in the database and read them. They are private, but not necessarily secret. In addition, Private Messages are not intended to deprive the Community of valuable information or experiences which could benefit the entire group. Please do not use private messages if the content of the message can be helpful to others.
No Abuse of the For Sale and Trade Forum
The FS/T forum is there as a feature to members to buy, sell and trade items of interest. It is not to be used as a business advertising avenue, BleedinEdge is not a free service for businesses to profit from. This forum is not to be used to sell unrelated materials, if you want to sell your sofa then put it on E-Bay.
No Reference to "warez" or Other Illegal Activities
BleedinEdge will not tolerate any links or references to warez, warez sites, "warez like" sites, illegal cracks, illegal hacks, or any other related ventures, or sites that may promote such illegal activities. Posts of this nature will be immediately deleted, and the offending member dealt with accordingly.
No Copyrighted Material
Information copyrighted or owned by any individual or entity other than the member should not be posted on the discussion forums or software libraries without the consent of the owner. If such an event occurs, the individual posting the information shall be held solely responsible. BleedinEdge shall not be held responsible for member-posted information that may violate copyright law.
You cannot legally post entire articles or news in the forum without permission from the copyright holder. Even if you attribute the article correctly it’s still copyright infringement. Copyright law does not care if you make any money off of the work or not, what matters is if you hurt the potential income of the copyright holder. In this case you would be depriving them of ad revenue and it is illegal. Under Fair Use provisions you can legally post a small abstract of an article - or perhaps the opening paragraph. So if you want to post an article you should do this and include a link, or just post the link. The exception to this rule is press releases; press releases are meant for distribution and can be copied and distributed as much as you want. If you are not sure if you can copy something then always err on the side of caution and simply post a link to the material.
