  • OCZ 4200EL review

    Here

They seem to be struggling a bit with their timings.
Don't know what bios Rev they're using is on the Max3.

From what I understand, the Max 3 is hardly the board to try and get high 1:1 overclocking...

So which stacks up as the best? OCZ 4000 Gold or 4200 EL ??? They seem about the same as far as I can tell.

The 4200EL uses the newer revision Hynix IC's that will run 2-3-3-timings much higher than the old ones will.It also uses a new rev PCB that is much more board friendly and helped keep the timings better.

Tony, thanks for the info on that.Since I can get either for about $195 (2x256) I'll go for the 4200 :yummy:

At the same vdimm? Since I'm stuck at 2.7, I'm wondering if I could get just a little bit more out of the 4200EL over the current 4000EL. Or is a vdimm greater than 2.7 needed?
