  • Will I have any problems with a 2TB harddrive and win2000 SP4?

I'm thinking of installing a 2 terabyte hard drive in my win2000 SP4 system.

If I make the drive one large 2 terabyte partition, am I going to have any problems?

As long as you use NTFS file system, you should be okay.

And as long as your motherboard isnt VERY old, and supports hdd's larger than 80gb, you should be fine.

        Thanks Buds.

My win2000 system is on a P4P800d motherboard and currently runs 4 hard drives, two of them are 1 terabyte drives (931.51 GB each per the win disk manager).

So a 2 terabyte drive should be no problem then. Should I go for 3 terabytes?

          No.
More than 2tb requires a UEFI bios, and windows 7 (Vista? Win 7?).
That old p4 machine wont even see it.

            Thanks Dave3d.

2 TB yes. More than 2 TB no.
