hey when up back up you're data. to an extra hddr. or external Dr.
if you system fails how do you get the info from your back up Dr.
i mean its. blank with only your apps, papers, .PST file address book etc.
how would get if off there. no os on there
You would have to re-install the OS on another drive and pull the data back. A better way, use something like Ghost and make an image of your drive. This way the OS and data are together.

When you say "back-up" did you use something like Acronis true image or ghost to create images or a clone of your drives? Or did you simply copy stuff over onto the back-up drive?

try this one, it is suppose to be better than ghost ... I got it, and since I had nothing to loose, tried it on my new machine ... it creates a bootable cd for you that you can then restore the whole image.
It startes will a full disk image, then has incremental's that you can run on a schedule that takes much less time ...
I like it ...
