I have actually had this mouse for 5-6 months and can't say enough good things about it. I Previously used a Logitech Trackman with the thumb ball. You could not tear me away from the Trackball because I was so used to it. Was on my third one and had to buy new ones on eBay since they were discontinued.

So when the MX1000 came out I was intrigued but hesitant. I tried an MX700 and liked the mouse but hated using a "mouse" so it went to the wife.

Finally decided to try the MX1000 when I found it at Sam's Club for $60. It was selling most other places for close to $100 so I bought one.

I was excited to open the package on this brand new technology and with good reason. It's got a real "friggin Laser"! :D

While others bashed it for it's weight and questioned it's ability to function as a gaming mouse I put it through it's paces. From Word processing to Gaming I found this to be the best mouse I had ever used. With it's rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery it saved me a fortune right off the bat not having to replace the battery every 2 weeks.
Battery life is excellent. Last me 4-5 days with heavy usage. And the LED's let you know when it's close to charging time so you never get caught by surprise.

This is a very precise mouse and while it is somewhat heavy compared to a corded mouse once you get used to it it is an awesome gaming mouse. Very precise in Counter Strike Source which was a great test in my opinion!

So if it's time to replace that old mouse or if you just want the best money can buy get the MX1000 From Logitech! You won't be disappointed!

I replaced my MX700 a few months ago with the MX1000. One thing to note and this is typical with LogiTech's Mousewhere (spelling was done on purpose) software with PS2 KVMs. Don't use the Mousewhere software. The mouse will appear as a generic PS2 mouse. Use MS IntelliPoint 5.x software and tell the software you are using an IntelliPoint 2.0 wireless mouse. The scroll wheel and even the side buttons will work. Only on one occassion have I heard a person say that the Mousewhere software worked on their KVM and I believe it was a USB KVM. The keyboard software has no problem with any of the KVMs I have used, this only a problem with Mousewhere. The MX1000 is a very good mouse, it's very hard for me to use any other mouse anymore.

I just bought a MS IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 for $20 at Frys and this is an awesome mouse. Can't find a single thing wrong with it except the scroll wheel. Its not clicky, it just glides and is over sensitive, which makes switching weapons in games a bit of a b!tch.

Whats the DPI on the MX1000?

ya.. the MX1000 is the best mouse i've used.. and ive used quite alot of mouse..

i have all 3 MX cordless mouse 700, 900 and 1000 :)
i like 1000 the best.. 700 and 900 has the same design.

my MX1000 mouse takes around 2-3 hours to recharge from low battery to full battery.. and that charge lasts a whole week of heavy useage (around 8 - 12 hours ot useage a day) its a kick arse mouse! :) and it uses Laser.. people say its heavy but your more lifting the damn mouse.. when u glide it on the table. you hardly notice weight.. :)

Is it true about if you pick the mouse up it takes a couple of seconds for it to start picking up again?

not mine, starts tracking again before it even hits the table
