Go into Security Center and turn it off there. Bottom of the page, select Firewall, then Disable.

What VPN direction, in or out, is having problems?

Oh... Also, do you have Norton AV(or possibly other) installed? ie: click Firewall in SS, does it say "Norton Internet Worm Protection......" or "Windows Firewall is ON. ...."

Hawk, that link looks only to disable the annoying Taskbar pop-ups.

You could set it as an exception in the firewall settings also.

Doh, sorry, look at this MS link. It details how to enable the ports and also Advanced settings.

Is there any other firewalls running on the box? If so, make sure you are only running 1 of them. . . . .

You can disable everywhere at the user interface and it will still be active, microsoft is stuborn on that one. You need to go into SERVICES and disable it there. Same holds true for Automatic updates.

You can also create rules in NAV2005's worm protection to support your VPN without completely disabling the allowed protection.

Norton AntiVirus Options > Internet Worm Protection
