View Full Version : membooster and psu question
i was looking into getting the OCZ Gold Series Dual Channel Kit 184-Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 Gold VX, Model OCZ4001024ELDCGEVX-K - Retail , but my motherboard only goes to 2.85 volts (msi k8n neo2 plat) and it needs 3.2v for the tighter timings, so i was looking at the membooster which supports up to 3.4 volts and was tested on this board, now my question, i need a better psu and was chkin out the OCZ ModStream 450W Power Supply with OCZ EZMod technology, SATA Connector, Model "OCZ45012U" -RETAIL, but its a 24 pin, and the membooster specs say it needs a 20 pin, with the adapter for a 20 pin, will this work?
im looking to hit 250 FSB with this.

Hi! Psy. Welcome to BE :welcome:
Your motherboard uses the 20-pin connector right? I know that most of the powerstream models are both 20 and 24. Not sure about the Modstream though.
------------------------EDIT-----------------------------
Yes, the Modstream has a 20 and 24.

Circular picture at the bottom of the second page. You can see the 4 pin that slides off the 20.
thanks for the welcome, yes the mb is 20 pin and the psu supports 24 pin, but has an adapter for 20.

The modstream's motherboard connector is a two-part affair. The four-pin connector slides off the 20-pin, and voila, everything is fine.
