ABIT is the de facto standard among the enthusiast crowd. ABIT strives to meld the latest technology into their boards through both their innovative BIOS implementations and their motherboard design. This has become true especially of late, with ABIT’s introduction of its OTES-based cooling solution and their dominance in the Intel-based motherboard arena. ABIT’s latest masterpiece is sure not to disappoint, unless you cannot get one that is.

read Macci's take on Max3 vs P4C800 http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=216533#post216533 ?

man the MAX3 is prolly the worst 875/865 mobo I've ever tested. Using pretty much slowest bios settings I can not go any higher than 252FSB (5:4 divider)!? In 1:1 mode maxes at 220ish (Vdimm 3.2V.. does about 245 on p4c800 with similar volts/settings). Also Vdimm jumps up and down.. from 3.02 to 3.35V when bios set to 3.2V

Could be explained by Chainbolt mentioning Max3 doesn't have a bios option to turn off Spread spectrum so it's always enabled

Whoops, my apolagies. I looked at the post date of the review, 9-8 and thought it was new. :beat:
I think it had something to do with the International dateline and the time space continuum. ;)
