Limit Internet Speeds.

I have to share a 5mbit line with 3 other people including myself in my household. Im a big online gamer, but having everyone online obviously kills me from doing so. What I was wondering is if theres some program or setting within Windows where I can limit the down/upload speed on their computers to maybe 35k down 10k up or so. I dont want to be stenchy, but they just take too much resources that disable me from doing the things I love doing online. Thx in advance!

Even if you are online playing a Deathmatch and good old Hawk is kickin' your a@@.. :mischeif: You will not see any performance it. The only way is if they are upload HUGE amounts of data at that time, maybe.


Plus you have a 5MB line. . . . . I've done that on a 1MB line and not noticed anything. ;)

Also qos srvp eats 20% of your network resources . theres a reg tweak to fix that also ill see if i can find it and post back

These settings have helped me in the past to some extent but be sure to read above article fully and ALLWAYS back up your regestry before you make changes

i've wanted to limit my roommates bandwidth speeds simpley becasue if one of them downloads something on my 512kb/52kb line i'm screwed. my ping shoots from 180 standard to most CS:S servers up to 300 which then getsm e booted for too high a ping. but with a 5mbit line you should be fine, you have 8x the bandwitdth i got and i still do fine on FPS
