Hey all,

After long hours of cutting, fighting and cursing my new DD water kit was in and running for about a week now. After all I went through to get this water kit in and running I got to thinking...was it all really worth it? I will let you decide. I am currently running my machine at stock settings and this was a quick test to see if I am getting good temps on H2O.

Enviroment: My home office, ambient temp 70F no air conditioning running or external fans, just me my desk and my machine, a beer  and a pack of marlboros :) (really need to quit) :shhh:

Equipment: Asus A8V deluxe mobo rev 2 , Athlon 64 4000+ @2.4 Ghz FSB @ 200mhz, 2 x 1 gig OCZ DDR400 PC3200 ram @ 3-3-3-8 timings , 2 x 120 gig WD 7200 rpm HDD and 2 x LiteOn DVD. DD water kit w/1 black ice radiator with 2 120MM fans on either side (push/pull) 1 120MM fan at front of case and 1 120MM fan at top for exhaust.

My first thought was , wow this should really cool my rig down and I belive it did as opposed to air. After all the work I did, I started to feel like I wasnt satisfied and was wondering where I am gonna be when I actually get to OC'ing this rig. What kind of temps will I see and what kind of rise in temps should I expect before I am back to where I started before adding H2O. I dont think I will get a big OC on this rig due to the video card and the RAM being 2 x 1 gig kit.

Dont get me wrong my RAM is awsome just cuz it is OCZ but in the interest of being fair I would of been better off getting 2 x 512 and if I pull one stick I will loose bandwidth so thats not a option here. I will look to get to 2.6 @ 250 FSB in the future.

I will tell you this in my experiance with water it was worth it to see the temps drop like they did but it was alot of work and not to mention some extra cash!!! to see my temps drop appoximatly 7C idle and 12C under load. What will be the results when I start pushing the v core up? I shure dont know but im gonna find out. I guess i am trying to find out from stock to OC if I am getting good temps to start with and if all my work was really worth it. let me know what ya think, I am really trying to find out if I need to make changes before getting to OCing this chip. Here is screen shot @ stock settings comes out, let me know if you think my temps are good or If I need changes.

Dude those temps are fine there is nothing to worry about once the system has settled in and all the trapped air is purged out and topped up with water you should find that the temps will lower even more from the looks of your previous thread with the case pics etc you did a darn fine job on your case and the water cooling set up, sit back have a swig of that beer (have one for me too) and give yourself a pat on the back at your effort on the H20 rig

Hey all,

Well as for fans I have 4 120MM fans running, 1 in front as intake, 1 up top as exsaust and 2 on the rad box useing a push/pull method from the outside in and it seems to be working very effectivly.

The OC'ing has started last night right now I am at 2.6 GHZ @ 220 FSB with a Vcore of 1.55. Mem timings are 3-4-4-8 right now on 2 x 1 gig OCZ DDR 400 PC3200. I am still new to OC and taking it slow. All is stable right now and ran Prime95, SuperPI for about 7 hours yesterday with no failures. I would like to get the FSB up and will have to drop the multiplier from 12X to 11 or 10 to get more... I am not sure how much more FSB my mobo and ram are gonna like though :bonk: any hints or help is always appreciated.

Call me stupid!!!! Heatercore???? :hide:

Hears what Im running Currently on Air with the Stock Box Heatsink & Fan that came with the Motherboard. Not the same AMD CPU as yours but a reference none the less for Air to H2O. Specs are listed in my Sig for the rig A64 3400@2.6ghz. ;)

Doing great Firecancer, certainly great progress since u originaly came in. keep up the good work you are doing fine and take evilangel,s advice.

nice going buddy. when u'r ready to push it, shout we are here.

just for info I am running my 4000+ at cpu x11 and fsb 251 for the moment, lot's o room to move upwards with the processor. Had it running at 2908 today, but since I am on air i back off. Anxious for my phase change system.
