Not a new SB live, just the older one, from the PIII days.

I have a cambridge 4-speaker setup which I like alot, so the Dolby 5.1, 6-channel stuff doesn't matter. I'm referring more to the overall sound.

I got sparkles and stuff when I got my mobo overclocked from my speakers when starting my comp and also when it's loading. No problems in games and while playing sound. Don't know how it compares to SB Live tho.
