I ordered these to go into my new Antec 1080 case...

The Zalman's delivered as promised.. nearly silent with the resistor on, still darn good without the resistor. I'm running them off the Antec's fan only leads, and can hear mostly just air blowing through the case at around 1700rpm, which is where the PSU runs them during web surfing.

The TT fan... well.. Damn loud when cranked up, but it does move some air! (rated at 75CFM)

Both of the ones I bought have a mechanical rrrrrrr sound when the speed is down, and it drove me nuts. I yanked 'em, put the stock Antec fans back in, ran them off the Zalman resistors, and they are moving about the same amount of air (maybe a few CFM less) as the TT fans, but without any of the rrrrrr.

I cannot recommend the Smart Fan 2 unless you plan on running it fast, and want the air flow. Didn't try out the thermistor feature.
