I just got a new PC Gamer yesterday and it has pics of COD II!

The engine looks dang impressive, looks like a improved version of the MOH: Pacific Assault engine...it maybe a new engine, havent read it yet, just wanted to be the first to post about it :D

I cant yet post pics as it was a first look by PCG...only the mag has pics so far, sry. :D

Also! Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 is coming in 7 days!

COD 2 is going to redefine shooters more than even HL/HL2. It's the deveolpers stated goal. And from what they said in the preview, I think they just might pull it off.

And BIA:RTH30 is going to rock!

i believe it will be mighty hard to redefine shooters more then hl2 has.

How did HL2 really redefine anything? Sure, the Source engine is beautiful and produces some of the best graphics ever to be seen in a game, but everything else wasnt really that special. The use of physics came in play a few times in the game here and there, but overall HL2 was nothing but a regular shooter with awesome graphics.

Your right HL2 was just another generic shooter.. Very Dissapointing. Counter Strike souce on the other hand was incredable. I don't mean to sound like a CS fan-boy but I really loved it for that.

Not that I'm a huge HL2 fan (the game made me sick - literally!!), but I do have to say in it's favor that as I played through it I felt the engine was very different from anything else I had played in before. It's that the game actually felt like I was somewhere new, like I hadn't been there before with those physics and LOD - the air around Gordon was thick with it, that feeling (either that, or it was something he ate  ). As a gaming "experience", to me it was just a flat liner...I think I tried to like it because I was supposed to like it, but it just never really got under my skin.

Now - the original Call of Duty, that did grab me hardcore, I really loved that game and I think I will play through the whole thing again on the harder difficulty setting. I liked CoD so much, in fact, that I went back and played MoHAA afterwards. CoD II I hope rocks as a complete game experience (the whole package deal you know story, gameplay, variety, etc. -AND- kick ass use of the game engine all in one nic package).

For me, games I play - single player campaigns - are like movies in that they take me awhile to really digest and let it sink in after I've experienced it. I can reflect back on it much more accurately two weeks after I finish it, rather than just two hours or two days after.
