...when Xbox software developers will start jumping ship on current Xbox titles and focus everrrything toward the next gen console.
I remember when that happened on the N64, I would be looking forward to a game and then BAM, it would get nixed for the N64 and ported over to launch Game Cube.
Oh well, the upside is a way more badass console to look forward to...

What microcrap should do is sell a barebones xbox2 and alow users to tweak it kinda like the mods going on now.

I'm surprised the current mods aren't more mainstream since everything inside minus the dvd drive is standard pc components. I would definently drop some change into a business that sells parts and such. Ah yes I can see a many a marriages broken up by that, then I would have to become a marriage counselor to reap the benefits of that as well LOL
Microsuck stopped all the mainstream Xbox mod's when they first hit. There are some people I know that were lucky enough to get them. ;)
I am eagerly awaiting the XBox 2 . . .

what all did they get, I'm curious. Since I've got two xboxes lay'n around I might try something if I know what to look for. I just recently learned of mods other than mod chips.
Pretty much all I want to know is when is halo 3 and a new GTA be on the XB 2.

:yup: I have a mod chip. :yikes: Who said that. . . . . . :mischeif:
I know of a few things that can be done to these little monsters.

I saw this one guy had an article online - a how-to article about interfacing your Xbox with your PC to access massive amounts of storage, then somehow he had images of all the Xbox games he owned on the PC HD and could just instantly play whatever game he wanted with no disc swapping. Other than that and mod chips I don't know of any other mods either - but I have not lurked around the dark underbelly of the web in awhile (Warez sites and other dark places - too much scary stuff down there) - it's where you can seriuosly contract the www. equivalant of HIV...seriously dangerous things there :!:

I think I've seen that as well, I think he had nfs or samba running. I stay away from the warez too especially now a days (of course most of the games including my three xboxes are "special"). The mods I caught wind of was ram upgrade and cpu I think. The bigger hard drive, I think up to 120G came shortly after the first mod chips and I've seen different dvd drives used to read cd-r.

RAM and CPU upgrades would be cool, especially if it really impacted smoothness of gameplay in really busy games, and reduced load times and/or frequency.
GPU upgrade would rock too.

I'm not sure how much it did but they bumped the cpu up to a 1G and I think ram was doubled.
