You know... the edge of the label on the bottom almost looks like a Newcastle label, but the bottle is green.

Clean setup cypher_138 :)

sweet... neat and tidey, looks great! been thinkin lately of cooling my nb too. still waiting for my cascade :beat:  :wack: ...

i had the same idea of keeping as much hot stuff and rad out of the case >

http://www.ebrooke.com/pomonkey/front_inside.jpg >>

yep, thats my pump to the left... still havent figured out what to do with it... maybe just what you did.

one thing tho... prolly should put 2 / 120mms in the back of the container to keep airflow good over the rad. get better airflow through there if you have a little extra exhausting...

Thanks.:D That looks sweet poMonkey. I took the IHS off my P4 and I'm at 27c under full load:

I found out my chip is a SL6WJ Costa Rica. This could explain my crappy OC. I'll grab a new one in October when the prices drop.

Did you get anymore Mhz’s out of it after removing the IHS?

I just removed it so I want to log the temp change over various ambient temp ranges. I'll try to but I doubt it. I'll post here if I do see a stable increase.

hmmmmmm... that does it. i gotta take mine off. ive been wanting to do it for awhile now, but keep puting off. seeing temps like those... well, just say, im looking for an exacto blade after hitting the submit button. im @ 40c with 2 instances of F@H cranking away, etc. and with ambients of around 65f, i should be lower than that, IMO. plus theres nothing worse than trying to get an even spread of shin-etsu across that huge IHS anyway. done!

any good documentation youve found on how to pry that sucka off?

I used a razorblade and stood the chip on it's side. In a rocking motion I went around the edge being sure not to go too deep and hit the core. Just be real carefull because you can kill the chip. I also grounded my self to so I did'nt fry it either. Here's where I got it now:

I had to disable HT to pass 250 myself. I miss the extra WU's.;)

w0w.. not bad! gj... your cpu runs a little hotter w/HT disabled too ( i think )... NICE

im going in...

Thanks. You should be fine as long as you take your time with it. Took me like 10 minutes cause I walked away from it a bit. It can be a little nerve wracking.
Good luck. :D

That's Great!!

Any chance of getting 265FSB, that will give you a cool 3.7Ghz :D :look:

That was my goal on this chip. I'm not sure if she has it in her.

i'll report back about temps and higher fsb ( hopefully )... as soon as that damn Cascade gets here... ( they told me about 4 weeks wait, 6 weeks ago. i dont wanna bug Cather, but... i want me beauty!!! )

I decided to bring it back down to 250 so I could run HT, Turbo and PAT. This seems to improve game play and general performance more so than the FSB being @ 260.

I have one of these (http://www.dtekcustoms.com/product.asp?0=205&1=228&3=20) with the aluminum fan beneith it.
The pump is a Danner#3 I picked up from a local petshop for $50.
I asked Cathar what he reccomended for his block when I bought it.

Am I missing something?

I get 48,705 in aqua3d with £50 duff 512/ddr400/2.5/3/3/7 at stock volts, like the rest of the system......stock hs and fan....no IHS removal and with everything enabled HT/PAT/devices....it's stable at 265MHz at ddr400.

Funny tho, I get a higher cpu score in aqua at 3309 with tight mem timings(2.5/3/3/5) than at 3604 with slack alice timings (3/3/3/7)

Soooooo glad I went for Asus P4C800b than Abit IC7-G(MAXII)

BTW have a SL6Z5....woot....woot :yummy:

Welcome to the BleedinEdge Jezzerash

England is nice for cooling, except in the summer……hehe, once those houses heat up, it’s hard to cool them off again. (lived there for 13 years)

Got some of my best overclocks during the winter in England, sitting in my room shivering with a parka on and the windows open, room temperature at 3c :D:D

 I know what you mean RH, my kitchen floor in England was a real natural oddity, It was always about 1 degree above freezing - summer or winter. Maybe I shoud have cut a little square out of the linoleum and used that between the cpu die and heatsink instead of thermal paste - I bet I could've really pushed my celeron 300a to the limit then :D
