View Full Version : anyone tried the task 520watt psu?

I am wanting to change my PSU to a 520watt and was thinking of the task 520 which runs 20amps on the 12volt rail. I am hesitant as i can not find a single review of this power supply. currently i am using a high power 420 watt (AKA chieftec, sirtec, thermaltake) HPC-420-102 DF which got rather warm while running my prescott at 3.75GHZ the other day. any one here tried this power supply? if so let me know

my other option is to get an enermax 480watt coolergiant psu price range new zealand dollars (http://www.stylespc.com/xcart/customer/home.php?cat=111)

or the other option is the topower 520watt (http://www.stylespc.com/xcart/customer/home.php?cat=112)

I would consider OCZ if they were affordable and available in new zealand (stupid importer only stocks the ram and ddr boosters in the OCZ range)

Id go with Enermax, Ive never heard of Topower...

Plus, Enermax makes some very solid powersupplies, si Id go with them.

Check out Eva2000 and drop her a line, she utilizes topower and is also in your neck of the woods. Seems happy with it.

Topower, makes 3 brand name psu, and manufactures also according to design for other companies. One such company is OCZ !
OCZ PSU manufactured by Topower, but according to the design and engineering that OCZ developped, Topower cannot copycat that in their own PSU.

I'm running the Enermax 485W Noisetaker right now adn it's rock solid - twin rails with 18A and 15A respectively and it allowed me to get my Prescott 3.0 to 245MHz FSB whereas before I faced instability with an Antec TruePower 430W unit that limited me to 225MHz.
