Well it was time to try out my good ole 2.8C and Asus P4C800-E Deluxe in the O/C department. Lets just say I always end up with less then average O/C's. This was done using the Corsair 3200 TwinX 1024 C2 not the LL.
First I will show some O/C,s with auto settings cause wanted to find the ceiling on this chip.
220 FSB= Sandra scores of 4081/4084 at 2.5 4 4 8 (4)
225 FSB= 4148 4189
230 FSB= 4287 4280
235 FSB= 4365 4374
240 FSB= windows wouldnt load
Next test was 5:4
230 FSB= 4734 4669 2.5 4 4 8 (4)
230 FSB= 4945 4879 2.5 3 3 6 (4)
235 FSB= 5032 5017 2.5 3 3 6 (4)
Now for the 1:1 tests
200 FSB= 4617 4608 2 3 3 6 (4)
200 FSB= 4639 4589 2 3 3 6 (8)
210 FSB= 4854 4926 2.5 3 3 6 (4)
215 FSB= 4962 4927 2.5 3 3 6 (4)
220 FSB= 5074 5053 2.5 3 3 6 (4)
Tried 220 at 1:1 2 3 3 6 (4) failed
So as of right now I am stable at the 220 FSB 1:1 with 2.5 3 3 6 (4) 2.85 DDR voltage.
Like I said every time I do this I end up with what seems to be a bad chip. :(

Welcome to the "Oh why, oh why, did I buy this 2.8C?" club.
At least the drinks are cold.
The best performance with mine is a great big, gasp, are you ready for this-why it's so big that I will type it out in words-two point eight three!!!!! :eyepop: :smash: :smash: :beat:
I know that some people have gotten great results out of their 2.8C procs; however, we are not some of them. :(

looks like you have more of a problem with bad memory than the cpu...... 240fsb isn't bad if that's at default voltage. try relaxing the ram timings as much as possible and see what the cpu will do with a little more voltage. then you can start playing with the memory timings. read some of the motherboard reviews and oc's posted by some of the experienced oc'ers on here and see how they do it:)

I hear you but the first tests show what I could boot to with timings so relaxed I went to sleep. Dunno if uping the voltage will help didnt try it.
I think its the chip not the memory cause of the ceiling I hit in the tests at 235 FSB. 2 4 4 8 no way I am running CAS3.
I want to run this in sync so in order to do that I would have to hit 250 FSB 5:4 to get to DDR400, just dont see this chip going there.

Regarding RAM. The RAM I initially used was RMA'ed XMS3500C2. The sticks were not LL but they were definitely matching sticks.
I'm now using Crucial PC3200 ECC so I don't try to hard to push the RAM.

what vcore you're using ? my 2.8C needed 1.6v (1.52v undervolt) on PX865PE PRO2 to get to 245FSB 1:1

Update the increase in voltage to 1.6 didnt help couldnt post at 225 FSB 2.5 3 3 6 (4) 1:1.

What about the whole sync async thing I can run at 235 FSB at 5:4 2.5 3 3 6 and memory scores drop a bit not alot?

what memory is this with? either that memory is no good, or you are missing a setting somewhere. i have 2 X 512mb Corsair XMS PC3500 c2 and it runs 5:4 2-2-2-5 at 262fsb.
at 235fsb 5:4 you should be able to run very tight timings.

As above, you should be able to run 5:4 with tight timings. That will give you a nice performance boost.

should try a 2.8C SL6WT week 21 on PX865PE PRO2 at 1.6v (1.52-1.55v real) http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php3?s=&postid=10663#post10663 :)

The highest my system will post is at the following.
235 FSB 5:4 2.5 3 3 6 AGP/PCI 66-33 2.85 dram 1.6 vcore
At 240 FSB same timings windows will not load, this is with performance set at standard. Turbo will send it to the BIOS recovery screen instantly.
I have a BX80532PG00D(SL6WJ) FPO 3312A436 PD 6-4-03
Bottom line my chip blows hehehe. :na:
