OK Guys... here's the delima.
I am in the process of waiting on a P4P800 mobo, however, I currently have a 2.4b C1. I am not in the position to get a "c" series CPU right now.
What limitations am I going to run into with the 'b' series on this board. My goal right now is just to surpass the 3.0G barrier. On my current P4S533 I cannot get past 2.8G.
Any advice... or comments??
Thanks in advance for your input.

it will depend on how well your cpu overclocks.
no other limitations.
a 2.4b should make it to 167fsb 3.0g on def vcore ~ some even go 180+fsb on def vcore.
youll have to just find out for yourself when you get it setup.

Yeah... I am thinking it should go well over 3.0... The P4S533 that I currently have does not have a PCI / AGP lock so I feel my 2.7 max is due to that.
I guess I will know more next week when I get the board in.
Thanks,

Dont forget the C has hyperthreading too. not that much of a deal but still a few % .

Yeah Claude... I know the 'c' series has HT... just don't have the $$$ for a new CPU right now. So my 2.4b will have to suffice for now.
I will probably try and sell my P4S533 and 2.4b before long and see if I can get a 2.6c or 2.8c. The guys who used to buy my old hardware lost his job or I would already have one on order.

Got my new P4P800 and set it up yesterday... I was disappointed in the fact that my 2.4b will not go over 3.0.. very, very close... 2.97. Looks like I am going to have to figure out a way to get my 2.6c.
So Claude... I would really wait for a "c" series chip if you can. But I wouldn't wait to get the mobo... it is awesome!!!

Just ordered my 2.6c last night. I am looking forward to see what I can do with it.
Man Lastride... running yours at 3.5... that is sweet. You must have a great proc.
Take care,

Franko....
Thanks for the info... I did get my 2.6c yesterday and am running it at 2.9... I am going to up the setting on a gradual basis. Getting to 2.9 was a breeze... I have high hopes for this proc.
more to come....
