every now and then, the sensor for the CPU or motherboard spikes out of range for a split second.... should I be worried?
it returrns to normal almost immediately.... but I am beginning to wonder if this is a "sign" :hide:

You know, mine does that too, and my board is also a Asus. Asus is very weird with their monitoring, with wrong temp read outs and such, so I wouldnt be worried.

Ya I get some funky spikes where it tells me that vcore and some of the rails drop down to 0 or worse yet, some insane number. MBM keeps things in check though, so I don't worry too much.

I get spikes too but never temp. Happens with the fans mostly and suspect it is a loose connection (or not a good connection). Temps are taken off a chip on board so not sure how it could get loose. More likely it's a glitch. Do you have the latest version of their probe?
I have also seen funny things happen when running more than one monitoring type program. Are you running MBM5 or some othe rprogram that might cause a conflict?

Speaking of Probe, I was reading where Asus's Post Reporter is supposed to work in Windows if you have a version of Probe that has the winbond voice capability. I downloaded the latest Probe, but it doesn't look like it has this. Also, my Post Reporter does not work even though I enabled it in the bios. That's probably a good thing, but I still wanted to check it out. I wonder why it doesn't work?

i've got 2 Asus boards and never seen spikes like that with Probe.
i've never heard of post reporter working within windows (what would be the point?) but i know you can create your own voices/phrases with a program in windows.
Post Reporter only works with the onboard sound enabled and any PCI sound card disabled.
Yes I have the latest version of Probe I think... 2.23.06
and yes I have MBM doing other things :)
hasnt happened in a while - mind you I adjusted the rails of my PSU DOWNWARDS :D
