Anyone know of a decent place online to get them. I'm basically looking for "raw" heat pipes. I've found a few website that make them but as far as get'n them is a different story. I'm trying to stay away from the heatsinks with heat pipes intergrated.
You could always make your own. . . :mischeif:
I have not seen any, but I will keep an eye out for them now for ya.

I think I'd kill myself in the process so home made is out. I think if push comes to shove I might buy some POS laptops to rob them of theirs.

In reading through this article (http://www.benchtest.com/heat_pipe1.html) it doesn't sound too bad. Maybe you'll loose a finger tip or something but who needs it ;)
Never heard of a site selling just heat pipes. Interesting concept. I thought the above article might give you some ideas and possible a contact where these might be purchased.
Luck to you and let us know if you find them.

that requires a bit more effort than I'm willing to put in ....sounds fun to try though, just another excuse to freeze stuff with compressed gases. My lil secret G14 classified project I was thinking of was using heatpipes to cool a peltier chiller. I seen a chiller swifttech had but it requires another watercooled setup. I'm hoping to get as small as possible for either an external case than can be carried or may even fit inside my case and replace my rads.

How long do you need them? and what is the average price.
Cuz you can always pick up the zalman harddrive cooler. IT has i think about 10 heatpipes (quite short tho). If it is long enough for your needs, I would say that's your best bet. Cheap and easy to find. What are you using them for anyways?

Might this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-116-013&depa=0) be of some interest ALX?? Has a lot of other stuff with it and Newegg out of stock right now but thought I would post anyway. :)
Edit: Or this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-118-215&depa=1) also

sweet, the thermal take is close to what I was thinking. Now if I can find a kit like that that can handle some power.

This is one case where size doesn't matter :D it's more of how much heat it can handle, I was thinking of running four 72 watt peltiers side by side in a square copper reservoir. Peltier math is weird.
