What's best for tight memory timings and stability 4x256 or 2x512 ? (my guess would be 2x512...less modules)
I wont need more than 1 GB.

Kingston HyperX are really cheap compared to Corsair and OCZ here in Denmark, and based on what I've read they are doing pretty damn good :)
Any thoughts on that too ?

Scoundrel..

What I have found... plus read on other forums is you will be better off with the 2x512.

Good luck... ;)

i tried running 4 matched sticks and my board couldnt hold its current overclock and aggressive cas settings.

stay with 2x ram.

Great, thanks :)

I' just read something at ABX about 512mb modules being doublesided could cause problems.

Should I go for single sided modules ? (if they exist at all)

i dont think single sided 512mb sticks exist yet.

i tried 4x 512mb

1gb sticks have the chips stacked right on top of each other :eek2:
double sided and double stacked

I've got Hyperx memory that has been rmaed 3 times. I have rmaed my IC7 and and I still can't get it stable @ 433ddr.

My cpu is a 2.4b and is totally stable @ 190 fsb when running my ram @ 1:1, if I try to see how far I can overclock my Hyperx PC3500 by running 175fsb with the divider set to 4:5 which puts my mem @ 434ddr, I can make it to the desktop and when surfing the net it might reboot or quit back to the desktop.

I can pull the Hyperx and install Corsair PC3500 and it is totally stable up to 450ddr @ 2337 and 2.8v, the same settings used on the Hyperx.

Kingston's tech support has been great, but it amazes me that it will not work right.

Any with ideas concerning this problem?

HWF ~ have you tried the new bios?

on earlier bioses i wouldnt be surprised you had that problem.

Yes, ram 8 modules has been tested with all three bios updates 2 mother boards different slot and different combinations of the modules. It works fine @ 190 1:1, but I can't go higher due to the cpu. The are 512meg modules.

It seems the 4:5 divider may do something that Kingston Hyperx PC3500 does'nt like.

the ratio and or NB strap could be the reason. i wouldnt be concerned since you dont actually run that way.

i always liked the 6ns memory (3000) better then the 5ns stuff (3200 / 3500) myself.
