Read about it here (http://www.bleedinedge.com/reviews/abit_ic7_bios_1_3/abit_ic7_bios_1_3_pg1.html)...:)

If you have a comment or question about Prometheus' review, post it here! :D

Prometheus,

Does this BIOS fix the problem from the previous one with doing IDE RAID 0 on the ICH5R?

TIA!

I no longer have the adapters to test, since I moved to true SATA drives, so I don't have an answer. You might check the Forums at www.abit-usa.com as I'm sure someone there will have checked.

Prometheus,
Thanks for yet another excellent review. I hope to have as much knowledge as guys like you and BigToe in ...about....forty seven more years (O.K, O.K....a HUNDRED and forty seven more years). Anyway, What kind of benchies are you hearing about from others who have updated their IC7 G bios? Are they consistently reporting similar performance jumps? I was looking at the ABXZone forums and it seems like folks there are reporting a range of findings even with fairly similar systems. Also, I thought you were going to review the p4p800 (Or did BigToe pretty much sum it up)

Regard,

Working on the P4P800 now as it just arrived today.

Had planned a review of the updated MSI 875p NEO FIS2R, but it died after 1 day of testing on Friday, and is STILL a very unstable board. This was the the 2nd - and Last - MSI 875 I have tried. This board has some serious issues.

Hi again, Prometheus.

I am glad to hear you are doing a review of the P4P800. I am sure you will have interesting things to say about it. IT SEEMS to be generating near total approval from the Pro reviews "Unpaid Expert who SHOULD get paid reviews, to the testimonials of folks on the forums (aside from the usual bum boards and Radeon problems, anyway). Consensus is a powerful thing!

I have a question about your excellent Review of the new IC7 G BIOS. The only thing keeping me back from a purchase is the LACK of consensus I am hearing from those who have flashed the new BIOS. The community's response seems to be "YES, NO, MAYBE SO" in terms of performance increases. I am just wondering what you are hearing from others (folks who you consider reliable) who have flashed to the new bios and if they are confirming your findings.

Thanks,
1MaNLaN

Great article, it appears that the 1.3 fianlly correcected andy "slack" the may have had in memory timing thus the need to be more concerned on latency set up. Did you ever find out if the SPD function is corrected and did you use one the performance modes in this test? I don't plan on overclocking right away for now I want a stable system. Will teh default SPD numbers provide that? MY IC7-G is due in next week.
