How do you extract files from a ramdisk i.e. initrd image.:scratch: I'm working on making a custom linux distro on a usb thumb drive and there are certain tools I want but they are in a ramdisk image. I just completed getting the linux windows "crack" disk to work off the usb watch I have. After messing with a few other distro that are flavored for thumbdrives I wanted to make one myself so that way I have a nice collections of sys admin tools with access to X via enlightenment. Now that I think, has anyone gotten lilo or grub to work on other media than a hd? Syslinux works but I ext2 instead of fat12.
