Those, who got 3dfx Voodoo2 SLI back in 1998 for astonishing $700 were often treated as madmen and the great pioneers of extra-expensive 3D graphics cards. Now, five years after the legendary dual-wonder of the Voodoo2 Gainward wants all the graphics freaks and 3D maniacs to show their passion for ultimate gaming once again and acquire the fast and furious Gainward CoolFX PowerPack! Model Ultra/1600 XP “Golden Sample” for more than $1000 (899 Euros).

We'll, my BFG card overclocks better on air then what their ad claims. . . Besides, it's only a FX card. . . There is no way they can justify that price. . . . :stop: I would assume that they are not going to sell to many of them. . . . .;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah... you're all begging you wives for the money right now ;)

Speaking of SLI, since well be seeing PCI express cards next year, we'll probably be able to have more than one vid card per system under the same bus.... and maybe nVidia can use the 3dfx SLI tech that they now own :eek2: :)

BTW, it looks like half the price is for their water cooling solution  Heck you could buy a 9800pro and a prommie for that much.

I have two Voodoo2 in a SLI configuration with a Nvidia TNT2 M64 working as we speak. I tried them on a Radeon 9800 Pro but had major issues and i didn't want to mess up my new Radeon or these beautiful pieces of electronic art. I will part with them but it will cost you big time. I believe I paid $175 per card and not the $700 quoted in that article.

$1000.00? I think I will pass also. I learned my lesson along time ago.
