Think my GF4 Ti4200 may be goin down..

Well ive been getting this slight tearing effect off of some things. most noticeable with darker colors on a light background. And today i was playin rainbow six 3 for a bit, then i quit and like an hour later the primary monitor brought up a horribly messed up image that had some of the last images from my game in it. And my second monitor (run off a pci card) was fine. I dont know whats up.

Im sure this didnt make any sence, so give me some questions and ill try to answer them.

Oh ya. Its a Gainward Geforce 4 Ti4200 GS 128MB

Well I played with my stuff and i think its not the video card.. But the monitor. For a while its been turnin all yellow tinted when the cable going into the monitor gets messed with. So I dont know, maybe it got worse? How would I go about fixing this, anyone have ideas?

yeah could be your monitor.. tried card in another pc ?

Not yet, but i tried the monitor on the PCI video card and it was doin the same thing. So im almist sure thats what it is. I cant really afford a new one right now, so anyone know how to go about getting it repaired?

This thread has been going for quite awhile now and I successfully got my Gainward Ti4200 replaced free of charge because of this thread (It was headed for the dumpster before I found it!). Just read the first couple pages and you should know if your card is showing the same symptoms and can see if an RMA is an option. Good luck!
