:bonk:

I just ordered the Thermalright xp-120 heatsink but I also ordered several Thermaltake rt-90x25 fans.

Did I order the wrong fan for this heatsink? Do I need the rt-120?? Will the rt-90 fit?

My case has 4 fans in it. 2 in the front and 2 in the rear. Since I bought (2) rt-90, should I use them in the case and get a Thermaltake rt-120?

thermalright heatsinks come with clips to fit usually 80mm, 90mm and if you have the XP-120 heatsink , 120mm fans. So you can clip on any fan really.

XP-120 can only fit a 120mm fan.

 Hmm....

I just checked with a local store (35 miles away) They have an Antec 120mm in stock.
We don't have many options, other than the internet up here in the Aspen area...

Maybe I should order another fan, and spend tomorrow snowboarding........

Aspen huh. My wife is from Loveland. At least you are closer to Mushkin than I am. I would still like to visit that place sometimes. BTW its on Colfax St. in Denver.

All we have here is Best Buy and CompUSA. I can't find anything I need at either store. I heard or read that CompUSA was going to have a Modding Zone put in many of their stores. I think their version of modding is DYI. My version of modding is quite different from theirs

You might get a 92mm fan to work on the xp120 but you will have to rig something up to hold it. Also it may not cool as well as a 120mm fan. I have ordered an xp120 and can see how well the 92mm fan I also have coming (for an xp90) so in a few days I will see if there is anyway to get the 92mm fan to hook onto teh xp120 (think quick ties at the moment :bonk: ).

With the xp120 I plan to use a Vantec Stealth 120 on it. 53cfm@1500rpm, 28Dba and only requires 0.96w and has rpm monitoring - should be okay for the mobo header (if I choose). Shoudl do the trick (hopefuly the flow is enough).

I was considering a Panaflo 120 L1A but it require 2.16w (I hear this is not good for the mobo header) and does not come with rpm monitoring - dang as I wanted to compare the two fans :(

Darn....

The 90mm only works if I set it diagonally..... sort of "Jerry-Rigged"

I drove down to Glenwood- through a blizzard, only to find out that Staples didn't have the 120mm Antec fan. The guy told me they had 1 left and was holding it for me. Apparantly, they were recalled as they (the fans) overheat..... I wish he would have mentioned THAT! :irk:

So, I will order one from NewEgg. I also found out that 2 of my 80mm case fanes were locked up.

Maybe I should sell the two 90mm Thermaltakes I have......
