Encoding AVI with AC3 audio

Anyone know of a good encoder that will make a AVI movie with AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio into a format thats sutable for a home theatre DVD player? I just got a DVD player and my mom wants the movies off my PC that are in that format. Thx :thumbs:

Ulead DVD Workshop 2 works well but it's very pricey and the trial edition will not encode AC3. You could try TmpEgnc. I've found this site very good for video/dvd help: http://www.videohelp.com/
