GJ BT...isn't that a famous DJ??
anyway...one suggestion
could you please put in a graph comparison with the i875p mobo numbers...
Im sorry but i find graphs full of numbers something i skip right by when Im reading reviews. Most enthusiasts already know what their rig will do and are looking for overclocking, voltage and stability info and this is what i try to give.
I can say Abit has hit back because of this board and released a new bios for the IC7 that GREATLY improves memory performance on their board. I found the P4P800 and utter DREAM to work with and as new info comes to light the review will be updated.Prometheus will be adding raid/raptor benches and some 3.0C overclocking info also.
In the review i did want to show what can be achieved with normal mid priced hardware that most can afford.Using a 3.0C with top end ram and a 256mb 9800pro is all well and good but not many can stretch funds that far..my rig is what you will see in most homes and as i have shown has awesome speed.

Excellent review there bigtoe, well done !
And I agree, the average joe might not have the cash for a high end system so it’s good to see mid range hardware giving the top dogs a run for the money, and I think "taking it" in this case.
Can’t wait for the next one!

I may have an Aopen springdale coming so will post a direct comparison there.I can also show against the AX4C Max.
I find many people overclock rigs and NEVER play a single game on it...Like me..;) I run Video/audio encodes etc and need all the raw power i can get, so looking at graphs of fps games is not what interests me.I try to show whar Raw Mhz can be achieved and what memory bandwidth is there with it, so you guys can do with it what you want.I run 3dmark as it shows general rig speed as well as giving gamers an idea on what they can expect from it.
As we build the review data base up we will be able to show better comparisons..but from me no page after page of graphs...just facts on speed and stability and how I tweaked it.

Thanks for the great review - BT -
In the process of building another rig and have
been undecided between the Abit and Asus 865PE
boards. This review helps dramatically.

well, Mikki, then you'll enjoy the irony of my processor shipping today but the P4P800 being OOS at Newegg even though they accepted my order:confused: ?
oh well, that way I can test the defaults of the 2.6C on my P4G8X thoroughly before the P4P800 gets here; y'know, for the comparison;)

The gains of the P4P800 are from using the "MAM" technology which is like the 875 PAT. Like PAT, you will only see these gains if you run a 1:1 ratio. If you are using a 5:4 or 3:2, you wont. See prometheus' post about it.
Still a very nice board either way.

Actually, from what I've seen a 3 gigger would be perfect for the board...(c'mon, you know you want it...) :p;)

and Aloha to you too:wave:.I wanted oringinally a 2.4C but a 2.6C or 2.8C sounds like the way to go until the 3GHz drops in price.
I see a lot of familiar peeps here from ATForums, AxbForums and OCForums.
Hellos to everyone!
-Edit- Mikki, very nice website BTW!

You guys sold me on the P4P800D.
In the last six months I started with the P4B533/2.53b and then I got the 1700+ Thoroughbred itch because of the OC results everyone was getting. So I got a EP-8RDA+ to slap it in.
At this point I realized that I missed the Asus boards so I bought a A7N8X Deluxe/2100+.
Now after reading an article at Tom's Hardware the other day and bigtoe's review, I'M BACK INTEL!!
I'm sold on this Asus P4P800D board and ordered it on Thursday along with a 2.8c.
I do have one question though, In the Tom's Hardware article the 1007 bios were mentioned. In bigtoe's review he mentions the 1006 bios. Which bios are best?

Thanks Thugs. Since it was beta I wasn't sure.
Tried all my gold modules in the P4P800 today.Running 1:1 at ddr500 cas2-6-3-3 3.05Vdimm( will post mod later)
This was not totally stable but is nice eye candy...2-7-3-3 was better and I will run more tests including 3d later.

Then ran 270fsb 5:4.
