 I DL PCMark04 and tried running it on my system. Found out you need to DL another file (something decoder I think  ). Just a heads-up for those who DL with modems.

I will edited this post once I check the name at home :thumb: .

EDIT: it is WM Encoder 9 that you need to DL with PCMark04.

I ran this on the 3.6 lga system and got 6316..... but I noticed something strange. That score was with the video card stock. I overclocked the video card and got a lower score :yikes: So I lowered the oc on the video card and ran it again.... this time it was a little higher, but still lower than with the card at stock  Has anyone else tried this to see if they get the same results?

Wrong version jcarno...... have you downloaded the '04 yet? You also have to have at least version 9 of WMP and the WME mentioned above. It will sure tax a video card, I can clock higher in any other benchmark than I can in this one

Just some tips: remove as many services as possible get rid of any fancy screen savers, clean up your desktop (hide the icons), move any unused fonts into a separate folder so they don't load up.

Check out these threads here (http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2668&highlight=window+tweaks) and here (http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2720&highlight=windows). These were mainly for memstat but most should help with this bench.

Now I will have to find some time to try this bench out.

BTW why is your proc only at 3.5GHz? Where's that awesome oc?

i can run it at 240fsb but my scores in everything seem to drop :( ...also i can boot at 250fsb now...but thats about it!!! :( won't last long after post....also i have some questions about this mem...i think i'm not doing something right!!!! in the everest mem bench, my scores at 200fsb are smokin!!!! but when i start to over clock with mem still at 2-2-2-5 my latency scores and write scores go way down...and my read scores only increase a tiny bit!!!! that can't be right can it????...i'm also starting to doubt my ANTEC TB480w PSU...think i need more juice...what yall think...could be huh??????

here's a link to my score, its a 100 points lower than my first score but who knows, don't really think this bench measures you cpu much except for multitasking and encoding/decoding purposes, of which the p4 alway beats a athlon.

hey flex, about your write and reads not improving with the increased fsb. perhaps the ram can operate at that speed but gives up errors? try relaxing the times a bit and see if that fixes makes both read and write go up.

I upgraded my CPU to a 560 J..."E0" stepping proc....
I immediately acheived a higher OC but Since the "ORB" is always behind on updating thier servers to Identify new CPUS, I , nor anybody else can publish a score made with an E0 stepping CPU....yet
FYI there are some people waiting to trounce the Hall o Fame iwth some pretty High Scores....Northwoods can't hang any longer

Not gonna post a score, because my scores suck :hide:, just a word of advice for SLI users. Running SLI cost me 10% at least on this bench. 4500 with SLI, 5000 in single card mode. I suppose I should do a side by side comparisson to see where I lose out - though it looks to be the 2D test....

Hmm, be interesting to see if O/Cing the vid card will help, I would bet no. In fact I've seen negative impact of O/Cing vid card B4 now! Let us know Snafu!

It helped but only a wee bit. I think this was because graphics is only one portion of the test.

The funny part is that after the first run with the card oc'd, it is reset to stock :irk: . After a second run with the card oc'd you get slightly higher scores. Of course running two benches without a clean boot between runs hurts the score too.

I have since pushed it to 5334 with some tricks but without pushing the FSB up I will not get any higher.

The proc is the issue <period>. 1 FSB over 235 and windows will not load <period>. I have been farting around with all kinds of setting to try and get windows to run but it always crashes on load. Testing included:
vcore up to 1.675
vagp up to 1.7
dram idle timer and refresh rates, infinite, 16T
dram idle timer 7.8, 15.6, 64T (I think auto too)
HT disabled (to confirm it helps and HT does help in this bench)
tried 5:4 no go
Can't recall all the setting I was playing with but still it will not go above 235 :irk:

C'est la vie

Edit: Interestingly at 240 I am able to run memtest without an error. WinXP screen pops up but only briefly before it reboots. I must be at the edge running 235.

Here is a screenshot of the last run I made a couple weeks ago. I didn't bother to publish it because it was only done at 265fsb X 15 (3.95ghz) and the system will bench much higher than that. This is using the 64bit 3.4es and Asus P5AD2 Premium board; I got rid of that board and have an Abit AA8XE now, I'll get it sorted out and get a better run to publish.

http://img163.exs.cx/img163/7761/04265x151bw.jpg

BTW; as others have pointed out, the best scores are with my video card at stock settings. Oc'ing the vc lowers the scores :(
