I just tried on my IC7 using setfsb to set 1:1 overclock to 260mhz with my A-DATA PC4000 pair of memory and aida32 and sciencemark reflect the new setting in their benchmarks but, sandra max3 still reflects my 255mhz 1:1 setting in it's results and displays on memory module results 255mhz instead of 260mhz ?

cpuz 1.19 shows my speed as 260mhz 1:1
cpuid shows it as 255mhz 1:1

I trust CPU-Z. I tried using that clockgen to set my FSB to 270 and the comp immediately crashed, meaning it actually did change speeds.

i managed to use setfsb to set 2x 256MB ADATA PC4000 to 265mhz 1:1 and run a few benchies not stable though but this is at 2.75-2.78v :)

SetFSB is only software. . . . ;)

Both setfsb and clockgen seem to work (computer locks if
it goes too high). And they both correctly report each others
FSB changes. However programs such as Sandra and cpuz
still report the original boot speed. :confused:

because you arent OCing thru the bios ~ the bios isnt reporting a change to windows ~ windows isnt updating the registry to show the new cpu speed ~ programs that access the reg to report cpu speed are finding the old speed is still listed.

clockgen and setfsb both read the actual chipset speed ~ not windows registry.

try booting upto m86 and see what it reports as your speed.

ran a quick test for ya.....

used clockgen to set 191fsb

post = 191fsb
3dm2k1 = 133fsb
cpuz = 191fsb
aida32 = reports nothing
m86 = 191fsb

Hi. This is my first on this forum.
Could any of you guys list a sort of "guide" of how to use setfsb/GenClock for IC7-G.
Iīve tried using both a couple of times but I donīt see the changes - as you just described
What is exactly you should do in order to make i.e. setfsb to work correctly?
It īcause Iīm receiving a couple of A-data pc4000 next week and next week my IC7 is also getting voltmodded - so I have to figure out how to use setfsb so that I can use the A-data to the limit:D :rolleyes:

Does clockgen work for NForce boards?

XJ ~ youll need to check the cpu-z/clockgen site for availability.

rro ~ i didnt have to do anything. just set it for 191fsb ~ thats it.

clockgen works but for OCing it did nothing extra for me.
i basicaly just use it to check AGP/PCI speeds.

Only works for Springdale/Canterwood boards....

I wish Abit would make some soft overclocking tools like Gigabyte, I only want to overclock to the max when gaming....
