View Full Version : IC7 when GAT is enabled ?

Over at Abit USA forums some users are saying that GAT when set to AUTO isn't considered GAT enabled...

with 2x 256MB ADATA PC4000 on IC7 @255mhz 3-4-4-8 with GAT and all sub options set to AUTO, ctiaw in windows reports PAT fully enabled.

so GAT is disabled ?

I'm not sure. . . . . .

But they say the sam for PAT on the P4C800 series, that AUTO is disabled, and ENABLED is Enabled. . . Go figure. . . .

But GAT's not PAT is it? Cause you can enable GAT on the IC7s...

i dont blame you guys ~ cause for the most part it IS BS.


PAT = Performance Accelleration Technology
some stupid code name for something that already existed in granite bay.

MAM = Memory Acceleration Technology
same crap as PAT, the different name is cause its labeled for 865 springdales.

NBS = NorthBridge Strap
only the 533fsb chip guys can play with this one below 190fsb.
GAT controls NBS automaticly on a IC7.

GAT = Game Accellerator Technology
this is the bad boy thats responsable for all your performance (or lack there of). without this you may as well go back to SCDDR.

And then what about before there was the GAT option, are you saying that GAT's just some little marketing doohickey?

GAT controls the 4 suboptions below it and the NBS.
it also adjusts at few other things we dont have an interface for.

PAT = MAM
