Hi all
I am new here.
Just wanterd to know if anyone has had any luck regarding the 1009-003 bios from ASUS with the PCI/AGP lock?
What bios version is the best when overclocking an AMD 3000(.90)?
Thanks alot.

Hi Swarm69 and welcome!
Are the locks available to us 1.02 owners in that version of the BIOS? If so, where can I find it for download?

I have a rev 2.0 board, but I thought I'd just throw this in the hat - I've been running the 1009.003 since the day it was posted and have had zero issues. Everything smooth sailing. Can't help you as to the locks on the 1.02, but they are there for me on the 2.0.
By the way - 1009.004 is out now!! sheesh, I just saw it this morning. 1009.002 and 1009.003 have been taken off the website and now 1009.004 is there...check it out here (http://usa.asus.com/support/download/selectftp.aspx?l1_id=1&l2_id=21&l3_id=1&m_id=1&f_name=1009-004.zip~zaqwedc)
I will be building a system in the next day or two using the rev 1.02. I will flash to 1009.004 and let you know if locks are present...

You said you would test out some bioses on a 1.02 board and see if any have the locks.
I tried the 1009.04 beta and none. Can someone find a newer bios that works with locks on the 1.02? I am still running 1005.21. Tony, can you mod one?
Thanks

I'm running 1008.03 and have no lock whatsoever for my Rev 1 board. I can't even do a minor OC without stability issues. I was thinking of flashing the 1005.21 BIOS, will I lose anything from my 1008 (which works well for me other that no lock)?

Sorry man. I got really wrapped up in a combination of school hell, and putting together the girl's system with the rev 1.02. 1009.004 is up and running in their rev 1.02 with no locks present in the BIOS.
On the rev 2.0, I noticed that after I flashed to the 1009.005, it puts the locks right out there where you can see them, w/o having to go into CPU multi/voltage menu.

Hi,
This is the closest I can see to a match to my question.
I'm putting together a new system with:
AMD 3200+ 64 939 90u
a8V Deluxe WiFi
I can't get any post at all!
I flashed to the BIOS 1009.005 (So the board isn't completely hosed) but still no post/signal.
I've switched from a ATI 9600 XT to a G200 PCI to rule that out.
I've read that BIOS 1007 should work with my chip (Rev. D) but I can't even find out what revision the chip is?
Any help?
Thanks,
Barry

BIOS v. 1009 is officially posted at ASUS. Also, 1009.007beta (although as of earlier today they had it mislabled as 1009.006. I'm confident it is 1009.007 though as it is dated more recently than the real 1009.006 post.

Rev 1.02 users (even with stable locks) seem to be stuck with bios 1005.21 as their latest and only option to have agp/pci lock options showing. Does anyone have a link for a newer 1009? bios that will allow rev 1.02 users to update and keep the locks? Or Tony, the rumor was you were going to try to mod a newer bios to enable the 1.02 locks?

Guys, I am a little choked as well. I have a rev 1.02 board and it ran beautifully with the 10021 beta bios and a 3500 at 2.5. I since sold the 3500 and bought a 0444 week winchester 3000. I was not aware that the board would need to be flashed in order to run the newer cpu. So I flashed to 1009 bios today and no more agp/pci lock. Had I done more research i would have kept what I had cause now I am stuck at 1.8 vs 2.5.
The only choice is a new pci-e board. I am so ****ed, does nayone know of a modded 1009 bios that will give us 1.02 owners access to working locks and the ability to overclock again. I never had a problem with the 10021 bios at all.

Cisco Kid, I feel for you. I just learned yesterday about the same thing. I can not upgrade my processor and keep locks to overclock. I just don't see why you sold a processor running at 2.5ghz stable just to buy another one that will run at 2.5-2.6ghz a little bit cooler??? And if you get a new pci-e board than you will have to get rid of your agp graphics card and buy a pci-e card! I am going to wait till the next generation of pci-e video cards before I do a major processor/mobo upgrade. But since we both have rev 1.02 boards that the locks are present and do work in the 1005.21 bios, it would be REAL nice if someone here with the know how could mod a 1009 bios for us!!
