This 17" LCD monitor is considered one of the best on the market. It has a 16ms response time. 500:1 contrast and 260 nits. Since I seem to always get LCD monitors with one dead pixel I will be curious to see if ViewSonic will break this curse.

Info on the monitor can be found here: http://www.viewsonic.com/products/lcd_vp171b.htm
Since I had to order this one instead of getting it locally, I will be stuck with this one so I sure do hope it does better than the Sony I tried.

I'm not going by ViewSonic's specs-I'm going by other recommendations from others and this link helped to: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=625882

Yes it is  . This monitor is very crisp and clear. It is so strange and alien to have so much space on my desktop. I can actually use it the way I wanted to use.
I ran 3DMark03 to see if I could see any ghosting-none. I watched a DVD to see if the clarity of the image was messed up-it was crisper than my CRT. This monitor is definitely a keeper.
