Got me an FX-53 at last

I have been wanting something high endish for a while now so i sold some of my old rig to help fund this, it's not retail new but not far off.
I'm also going NF4 when they arrive in AUS, matched with my Platinum 3700 i think i'm in for some holiday fun.

LOL, maybe you should read this months Maximum PC. The FX-55 wiped the floor with the Intel 3.4EE. 19 benchmarks run on both of them and the FX-55 won 15 of them :rock: :rock: :bow:

Very cool. If I were building today I would defect to AMD ( :hide: ). Too many reasons not to.

EE = Exquisitely Enemic :lol: and if you are willing to shell out that kind of money might as well save a few $ and buy an FX55 that will spank the EEs :D

Now that Intel has gotten a thorough spanking. I give it a month until they release a prototype chip that will be even with the FX-55. Since I have been following the on going saga, this is the way Intel has done business. They are content, as long as they have the upper hand, to let people blow money on a chip. Even a chip, that by the time a review is done, is out of date.

It's a wait and see. I have not heard anything stellar coming from Intel for anyone in the AMD camp to be worried. Aside from opening up one extra multi the only procs I hear they will realease before dual cores are 775 Prescotts with higher L2 cache - not quite the Exquisitely Enemic variety but more 2mb L2. But this is only a stop-gap measure until dual cores.

For gamining I would still rather have an fx53 or fx55 than a Prescott atm.
