Aite. I have a long story. So get ready. 2-3 weeks ago, I decided to update my msi neo2 plat bios to 1.3 v. I've used the computer for 2 months fine but I thought to solve the bogus temperature problem, I have to update the bios. I update it, then the computer becomes really unstable. Sometimes it just turns off; blue screens show off; or sometimes it crashes and large annoying beep sounds get turned on. THen, after two days, the computer totally crashes, and it doesn't boot at all. The psu runs, then the fans go in half speed then no post beeps. So, first I thought it was a problem of either cpu, memory, or bios. So I get replacement for all these three. I get my brand new cpu, memory, and bios and I set it up again, but the same problem occurs again. So, this time I buy a antec 420 w psu to test it out and it still doesn't work. So, I thought it was a mobo problem so I get my new gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP-939 from newegg.com. I install it, now the psu doesn't even turn on. Nothing happens. So, I test it on my msi again, the psu turns on but the fans spin in half speed then nothing. WHAT IS WRONG with my computer? Is it the psu or mobo? I'm so confused. THis is the first time I encountered in my 8 years of computer diy. FAST response would be appreciated.

Well I've heard of problems , but your story is kind of making it even worst to analyze due to all the elements u are bringing in.
So can we try this. I've heard of problems with the MSI neo2, but nothing that can't be fixed and since I am not familiar with the Gigabyte. Can we work with MSI and see if we resolve this.
You need to identify a few things for us:
What processor?
What memory?
What hard drive IDE or sata?
But u can already do a couple things.
Go to your MSI board and CLEAR CMOS (move the jumper on the board to toehr position), and make sure u uninstall the battery and let it rest for a few minutes. When done reset the cmos jumper to normal and reinsert the battery.
Then, install only the minimum of the MSI board, install the following.
CPU
1 - Memory stick in slot 1
1 - Video Card
1- Floppy drive.
Now connect your OCZ ADJ520 PSU, making sure that u are utilizing the 24 to 20 pin adaptor and connecting all proper leads to the motherboard.
Once done, now power up, if u get main screen hit the key to go to bios option and report back here what your setting is.

Here is a quick question......are you putting the board in the case? IF so, try placing the mainboard on a box (the mobo box works great) and install only cpu and hsf, 1 memory stick, video card and either plug the monitor in the vid card or attach a case spreaker the the leads on the mobo. It could be your case got a little wear somewhere and has decided to short your system while it is in there. IF it runs out of the case, put some electrical tape on the mounting studs before putting it back in the case.

I hope this helps. My system is very simular. I had to replace the msi board once already. I found that upon upgading to a Power Stream 520 and osz platium. I worked but still crashes. I finnnally had to reinstall my vidio card. I just wast not seated properly. Made all the differance in the world. I suggest you test all your connections and make sure your board is properly grounded. Give it a try.
