It should be here tomorrow. Im gonna take the 2.4B that I have here and see how far I can push it on the IC7, just because my SINXP dosnt like to go over 170MHz FSB often, if ever. After that comes the 2.6C. Gonna shoot for 3.4, but we'll see how well it does soon enough. Anyone want to see any specific tests run?

you in for alot of OCing fun :-)

Im thinking of trying my 2.66B on the DFI board too...the 2.66B gets to 158fsb on my Shuttle...but I dont think it does the AGP/PCI lock and also undervolts..(i845G)

Good luck!

I'd like to see "B" versus "C" chips in an identical system at the same MHZ benchmarked for performance.

i can do that

Its not the best testing and a little hard to follow.I did a comparison 2.4B and 2.4C here.

me too~
make sure the mem is tweaked out tho cause thats where all the power is.

Want me to run the same clock speed and same mem speed? Or as close as possible. Thats what im thinkin.

same clock speed w/best mem speed

&

best clock speed w/best mem speed

:-)

Alright.. cant wait till tomorrw. unless fedex nerfs me.. I just wont think of that

Heheh.. this time is the worst when you're just trying to pass the time until that Fedex guy comes with your big box 'o goodies..:yummy: :p

Good luck with the new rig! I'd also like to see the benches

same clock speed w/best mem speed
best clock speed w/best mem speed
Yep.. I agree.

Since I have a very similar setup, here is a ballpark on how to set it up: You have KHX PC3000 and I have Corsair XMS, but they are both 6ns mem based and can run tight timings, so it should be fairly close. All CPUs are different, so again, just a ballpark stab @ where you might be.

NBS = 800
FSB = 250 - 260 (YMMV)
mem ratio = 5:4
Vcore = ??? whatever it needs. I dont like to go above 1.6
Vdimm - 2.8 (works good for XMS). KHX ??? Not sure
All GA options = auto
AGP/PCI = 66/33

Ram timings should be pretty good with that setup. 2-6-2-2 or so depending on how high an FSB you get to.

That should get you close.

BTW, what HS/Fan are you using?

For tests, I'd like to see three types if you can. Games, audio/video encoding, and archiving. For games, Q3A, UT2K3, 3DMark03, Serious Sam are all good. I dont like 3DMark01. Results vary too much from run to run to draw any conclusion from a small point change. A 100 point increase on a 17K score is only a 0.6% change. Well within a normal variation on a benchmark.

For audio/video encoding, LAME and TMPGEnc are both very good, consistent and free! If you need help with them, LMK and I'll get you started.

For archiving, WinZip or WinRar will work well.

Well, i got it hooked up today, and damn. Does the IC7 read temps high, or is it just the hardwaredoc program? I put my 2.4B in @ 2.4 and it says its 51C IDLE. In my sinxp it was around 34C at 3.1 idle. I have a Swiftech MCX4000 and thermaltake smartfan2. Even at full force (75.7 CFM) its idle at 51.. I tried to re apply AS3 1 time already, but its no better. Do I need to let it sit or what? Maybe its the BIOS, but im using the 16 BIOS.

Well I got it at 3.2 stock voltage, so im happy with that. Temp is 56C after a couple hours of primeX2. So I think I got that resolved. Ill push it more later on today.

not bad so far.

dont worry about the temps til it gets to 60*C.
youre temps will soar once you use extra vcore and/or get close to 3.4ghz.

Well i havnt been doing much testing, just working on OCing and getting it stable/cool. Im at 3.3 and I got the temps down to 52C full load. 1.54v as read in winbond hardware monitor. Ill see about getting some more out of it in a bit. After that ill stat benching.

geez...these temps are making me crazy...Im only hiting 42/43 at load (2xPrime95)...Ive rechecked the fitting and its great...

Ahhh.. well, probably just bad placement of the diode or something... all the ABIT boards read ~10C over the actual temp.
